Hublot Launches Big Bang Senna Foudroyante

Whereas Hublot's first Big Bang with the motor-racing champion Ayrton Senna's signature was launched last year during the F1 Grand Prix in Sao Paulo, act two of the same piece took place in Tokyo, December 2, at an exhibition of previously unpublished photographs of Ayrton taken in his private and public life by the Japanese photographer Norio Koike, a very close friend of the sportsman.

In the memory of the regretted motor-racing driver, Hublot together with the Ayrton Senna Foundation have chosen to unveil an unseen part of the champion's life.

While launching Big Bang Senna Foudroyante, the second and newest watch with Senna's signature, Hublot was also honored by the presence of its ambassador Bruno Senna, a talented young motor-racing driver who has achieved second place in the GP2 championship this season.

The Big Bang Foudroyante Senna, a 500-piece numbered limited series, exhibits the colors of Brazil just like the first edition: green and yellow for split-seconds hand, yellow minute markers, Brazilian flag on the case-side element and of course, Ayrton Senna's signature in green on a matt black dial. During the event, Jean-Claude Biver, president of Hublot announced that a part from the watch's sales will go to charity, to the Foundation Ayrton Senna.

Viviane Senna, Ayrton's sister and Bruno's mother could not miss the important homage event. She started the charitable Institutio Ayrton Senna 14 years ago in order to offer a better life to millions of helpless children from Brazil. The non-profit organization was founded to honor Senna's ideals of bringing more equity and dignity to his native country. In time, it helped 9.4 million children in 25 Brazilian states to achieve a better education both at school and in society and develop their capacities to the full. In order to achieve such high purposes, over 85 million US dollars have been invested.
