Since the 90’s Toyota Corolla is not too complicated, you can perform the operation at home. All you need is a toolbox, a jack and the replacement pump according to your Corolla model. Try to go for an OEM one if you don’t want to do this job again in the near future.
So, here are the steps:
Jack up the car and remove the front right wheel
Unscrew the bolts on the dust shield behind the dampener and remove the panel they were holding to gain access to the pump
The power steering pump is the lowest mechanical part that has a pulley attached to it and it’s driven by the accessories belt
Locate and unscrew the two bolts that keeps it mounted to the engine block according to the video
Remove the two hoses attached to it and then you can take out the pump
Put the new one in place, attach the hoses, screw the bolts and put the belt on the pulley
Check if there is enough power steering fluid in its special container in the engine bay and complete it if not.
