The engine coolant reservoir acts both like an overflow container for the radiator as well as a reserve in case there are leaks in the system.
If for any reasons you have damaged yours, here is how to replace it on a 1994 Toyota Camry. All you need is the spare part according to your model and a pair of pliers. Here are the steps:
- Let the engine cool off if you’ve used the car
- Open the hood and locate the reservoir. It should be the yellowish container on the passenger side
- Undo the clip keeping the small hose attached to the main cooling circuit according to the video
- Twist the small hose and disconnect it
- Grab the reservoir and pull it upwards to remove it
- When installing the new container use the pin on its bottom to guide it into position and just press it downwards
- Attach the small hose to the main circuit and secure it with the clip
- Fill the new container with coolant to the right level.
