Changing the air filter on your Toyota Yaris is part of the regular maintenance program and it will allow the engine to breath better.
The job will take about five minutes, depending on your skill, and you won’t need anything more than a screwdriver and replacement filter for your spec. Actually, there are two filters in the plastic container, but you can just vacuum the fixed one as it cannot be replaced. So, here are the steps:
- Open up the hood
- Locate the air filter box (somewhere towards the front on the driver’s side)
- Undo the mounting clips on the filter case
- Remove the whole top part
- Use a vacuum cleaner on reverse to blow out the dirt from the fixed filter according to the video bellow
- Put the new filter instead of the old one
- Mount everything back and start the engine to see if it sounds ok.
