How to Relocate the Battery on Mk3 Toyota Supra

There are several reasons to relocate the battery on your Mk3 Toyota Supra project and it will require medium mechanical skills and time.

First of all, the battery takes up space in the engine bay, space that you will need for your engine mods. Also, the battery is heavy and by putting it in the rear, you will help the weight distribution a bit. It will also be more protected in the trunk from the elements. A dirty battery will discharge faster if you didn’t knew already.

Tools required - an electric drill, new battery terminals with cables, battery box (if required by law) and some J-hooks so let’s get started.
  • Find a space as far back in the truck as you can and at the same time at the far right
  • Leave a few inches between the battery box or battery and mark the holes for the J-hooks
  • Drill the holes and place the hooks in them as seen in the video bellow
  • Fix the box and the battery on the hooks
  • Now, all what’s left to do is to bring the wires from the engine to the relocated battery, so you will have to find a way like in the video to do it

See the clip bellow for more detailed steps on how to wire the battery.
