Sick of CDs piling up in your Scion xB but you don’t want to replace the stock stereo? Why not installing an adaptor so you can plug in your smartphone, tablet or MP3 player to it?
It’s less expensive and you can do it at home using just a 10 mm socket with ratchet and extender, a prying tool and some elbow grease. Here are the steps:
Pry open and remove the surrounding of your xB’s radio unit
Grab and pull out the trimming panel just under the radio
Remove the four bolts holding the radio unit fixed in the dashboard. There are two of them on each side
Pull out the radio unit and plug the adapter in the socket shown in the video bellow
Test your adapter and see if you can play music from the device
Fix the radio unit back
Find a stylish way to leave the adapter cable outside
