Some car models these days offer you the possibility to change the color of the ambient light inside with a push of a button, so you won’t get bored with the plain one... duh, first world problems - can’t read the map at night in white light anymore.
Actually, nobody having a car that lets you change its interior light color will read a map, but that’s just another story.
So, if you have an older car, say a Scion tC, and want to change the ambient light go and look in the car’s manual to find out what type of lightbulb you need first. Then buy them in what color you fancy, grab a small flathead screwdriver and do the following according to the video bellow:
Use the screwdriver to pry open the transparent plastic cover for the dome light up front
You will see three bulbs with some arrows near their socket pointing some twist directions
Whatever you do, DO NOT turn the light bulbs in the directions indicated by arrows
Pull the middle lightbulb out just by pulling it down
Insert the colored one in the socket and put the cover back
The procedure for the one at the back is the same. The bulb looks different but you pull it out the same way.
