How The AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept Came to be

Concept cars are by default created not necessarily to be driven but to be admired at auto shows and/or as wallpapers, with some of them being showcased just to feature a new technology or a design trend.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is pretty much all of the above, including the fact that it can actually be driven, but just not in the regular way.

Created specifically and exclusively to be driven in the Gran Turismo 6 Sony PlayStation 3 racing game – set to arrive in stores on December 6 – the gorgeous Mercedes-Benz virtual concept car also exists as a 1:1 scale model which was recently presented at the 2013 LA Auto Show.

Now, most people only appreciate or critique concept cars using the finished product and without thinking at the amount of work that got put into creating that, so we find “making of” videos more than in handy when judging certain concepts.

Despite the marketing wooden language that seem to attack us at every second, we found the following “making of” footage pretty viewable and we even learned a few more things about how many people helped create the AMG Gran Turismo. We can't wait to play the game now.
