The international healh crisis has disrupted all major automotive events, but some more exclusive and discrete events did manage, however, to be organized. Well, if a test drive dedicated to customers of Bugatti could be called “discrete” by the inhabitants of the surroundings of Rambouillet, not too far from Paris, France. For sure, the W16 engine sound, which is specific to the Bugatti Chiron Sport and Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, is not something you can pretend you didn’t hear.
Those were the cars brought by the official dealer partner Bugatti Paris to the former monastery, Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay on the occasion of this extraordinary event. And this looks like a completely divine context. Nowadays, the complex situated at the heart of the forest of Rambouillet, around 50 kilometers (31 miles) south west of Paris, is one of the world's most refined luxury hotels.

After all, we conclude this Bugatti test drive somehow had a pilgrimage character. The idea is reinforced by the importance of the French capital for Bugatti’s history. Ettore Bugatti established the brand's first showroom there, in Avenue Montaigne, almost 100 years ago.

Even though the founder chose Molsheim as the company headquarters and production site in 1909, he frequently visited Paris, the center of the intellectual avant-garde. He spent essential moments of his professional and personal life in Paris. Recently, Bugatti Paris inaugurated a new showroom in Neuilly-sur-Seine, only a few hundreds yeards away from the place where Ettore Bugatti spent his last days in 1947.

The test drives in Paris have been the kick-off of a Bugatti Road Show for the Chiron Sport and Pur Sport in Europe. Objects of the tour: the Bugatti Chiron Sport, presented in 2018 as a refined version of the already known Chiron in sportiness terms, and the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, radically developed as a hyper sports car.

Its 8.0-liter W16 engine provides 1500 PS and 1600 Nm (1181 lb-ft) of torque. Consequently, the Chiron Pur Sport accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in a mere 2.3 seconds and from 0 to 200 kph (124 mph) in 5.9 seconds. Only 60 examples of the Chiron Pur Sport will be assembled and sold at the price tag of 3 million euros.
