How a Toyota Cressida Can be Cool

Well, let’s be honest, the mid ‘70s Toyota Cressida sedan is one of the most boring cars ever made. Maybe it had a bit more street cred back in the days, but now, people will think there’s an old man’s busted banger, driving to the local Bingo.

Of course, there are passionate Toyota fans desperately needing a tip-top condition one in their collection, but that is another level. We’re talking here about a daily driver. But having a first-gen Cressida sedan as a daily driver won’t bring you attention on the road (maybe in 50 years or so, when cars will fly) unless you deploy a secret weapon - drifting!

Yes, drifting can make any rear-wheel-drive old banger look cool if done properly. That’s the whole idea in fact, drifting was made for fun and entertainment, we even have internationals drifting championships to see who can go more sideways and put out the most amount of smoke at the same time.

So, yeah, if you know how to drift your way out of the highway like this guy in the video bellow, it really doesn’t matter what you drive.
