The Toyota Prius and the Holden HSV GTS make for one of the most contrasting pairs of the auto industry. While the Prius kills any form of enjoyment behind the wheel in its otherwise successful attempts to protect the green bits that grow where the tarmac ends, Holden's 575 hp two-ton performance sedan pretty much does the opposite.
Given this, you wouldn't expect Toyota's hybrid to be able to threaten, let alone destroy, Holden's burnout machine. However, when such verbs are used in their literal sense, the Toyota works as a 2,965 lb (1,345 kg) weapon.

We're talking about an accident that saw a Prius driver running a red light and leaving Australia with one less HSV GTS in the process. While the Prius driver is obviously at fault here, the Holden's unfortunately large A-pillar didn't allow its driver to see the Toyota more quickly (the dash cam has a different angle, being mounted closer to the windshield). And despite the HSV guy waiting for a few seconds after the lights had turned green, the accident happened.

"So I was stopped at the lights, the lights have gone green and I have waited a few seconds, which is a habit I picked up from riding motorbikes. Light has gone green, off I go and out of no where this white car just goes straight in to me and ends up in oncoming traffic. Both my airbags go off. I get a knock to the head and hand. The story from the other driver is he was changing lanes and wasn't looking, didn't have time to stop for the red light and went straight through it and in to me. Police are charging him," the driver of the go-fast sedan explains in the YouTube description of the footage.

The HSV GTS driver reportedly had his wife and nine-month baby riding in the back seat, but it seems that nobody was injured in the crash. Given the rather serious impact (as you'll be able to see in the video), this was one part of the dark episode we can label as fortunate.
