No, it’s not a typo, the 23-year old footballer truly stole his own truck. When D.J. Swearinger went to the local tuning shop to pick up his upgraded truck the other day it appears the bill was too big for the sportsman to face so he simply got in his car and drove away without paying. Folks at the auto shop later tried to contact him, but seeing nobody would react, they filed a police report.
The Houston Texans selected Swearinger in the second round, with the 57th overall pick, of the 2013 NFL Draft. He had his first NFL interception against the Arizona Cardinals in week 10 and ever since things have been taking their normal path. Since the young sportsman recently started his professional career, we’re pretty sure he doesn’t need any bad publicity.

The 23-year old NFL player took his truck over at Espi Motors to get some proper custom touchs on his 2013 Ford F250 truck. He had it covered with a matte black paint and adorned with a Batman logo, speakers, new wheels, custom grill, train horn and some other stuff. All together, the shop’s management claims the job is worth $20,000, something D.J. wanted proof for before paying. Here’s when the scandal started.

It appears that the shop wasn’t able to offer any evidence of their work nor could they provide an itemized list of the auto detailing services, so Houston Texans’ safety decided to take his truck and drive away. According to sheriff’s office spokesman Deputy Thomas Gilliland, prosecutors are investigating the case of theft of service, but the situation looks like it’s “going to be a misunderstanding”.
