Say what you will about the Chinese government, that they’re communists, that they peg their national currency to help exports and that they allow people to drive only on every other day in some cities. But they seem to respect private property more than anywhere else.
One old Chinese couple refused to sell their house under a government expropriation scheme because they thought the compensation was too low. So the multi-lane highway was built around the house, which stands out like a sore thumb in the middle of the road.

Parts of the wall have even fell when the adjacent buildings were taken down, but the owners refused to move. So electricity and sewage has to be run to the house across the highway.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
