Volvo has unveiled the most blood fizzing car it has shown in a very long time at the Gothenburg City Race in Sweden over the weekend. It’s called the S60 Polestar and we have a problem with it, a big one in fact.
We love it so very much that it saddens to report it’s actually just another one-off built by Volvo’s motorsport racing partner firm for a client, not even a preview for a production car.
However, there’s hope if you also want one because the Swedes say there’s a chance that "a small series of Polestar modified S60s may be built pending market response".
But why do we love it so much? Because of the power coming from the tuned 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine which has been tuned using race tech to produce 508 horsepower and 575Nm (424 lb-ft) of torque.
That’s enough for a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h (186 mph).
