German bike manufacturers Horex are making a comeback which is simply stunning: their VR6 Roaster is a brute which packs unbelievably R&D expenses and for whose birth legendary research names such as the Fraunhofer Institute or the Spiegel University have worked very hard. And yes, it's a V6 motorcycle!
Now, this alone should make us breath harder: not only a V6 bike, but a bike with a completely innovative engine, packing it the brutal power and torque explosion anyone would expect from such a unit, yet being more compact than any of us could ever imagine.

The engine is a combination between a traditional in-line and a V one, with beveled pistons and so many intriguing features that we'll dedicate a special piece for the oncoming weekend. The beastly engine sports a 1218cc displacement and can deliver 161 hp, with 137 Nm (101 lb-ft) of torque, with a no-nonsense 12.5:1 compression.

Permanent solid lubrication for the chain final drive is only one of the very nice things for the Horex VR6. An aluminium bridge frame and aluminium wheels are linked by WP suspensions, and the dry weight reaches 249 kg (549 lbs).

Other prototypes are derived from the base model and touring accessories will be available, too. With a two-figure (in millions) development budget, it looks like Horex will be back with quite a bang: dealers and service network, initially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, followed by the rest of Europe, then the US and Japan.

Stay tuned for prices and more details. We've only got one more thing to say: Horex, we love you!
