Honda might have great ambitions in terms of economy, but fans of their automotive debut with rev-happy engines are starting to feel disappointed. Rumors of a veritable yet somewhat misfiling supercar name returning have been rampant, and even the Japanese Automakers CEO has confirmed the car.
Now, Honda’s Research and Development Chief Mibe Toshihiro has told Autocar that work is indeed underway on the car, though he has been a bit tight-lipped with the information.
"We are now at a point where we can consider the next generation of electric and hybrid vehicles," said Toshihiro while speaking at the Global Automotive Forum in Chengdu, China. "President Ito has already mentioned a new NSX, and we have looked at that in the R&D department. It would be an interesting project - electric or hybrid vehicles can be fun as well as economical. More than that I cannot say."
We know an Acura version of the NSX is going to be featured in next year’s Avengers movie and Autocar says it might debut as early as next month’s Tokyo Motor Show.
