Honda VFR Adventure Bike Concept Final Sketch Revealed

Japanese manufacturer Honda is expected to launch eight new bikes at the upcoming EICMA show in Milan next week, including a new Varadero and a new Pan European. After showing us a bit of skin last week, the company has unveiled yet another sketch of its much-anticipated V4 adventure sportsbike.

In terms of design, the new adventure machine is expected to draw inspiration from the VFR1200F, Fireblade and CBR250R model we presented yesterday.

Early reports indicate the model is likely to use a smaller engine than the VFR1200, speculation is that it will be an 800cc unit, accompanied by a dual purpose styling, traction control and engine mapping.

What we can also tell from this final teaser image is the machine will likely use 17-inch cast road bike wheels, a one-piece rider/pillion seat, and VFR’s dual-layer fairing design.

"This mid-range machine is an exciting new approach – a crossover machine that represents the best aspects of two separate biking genres.  It will have the flexibility and exciting attitude of a Naked performance machine, with the more comfortable upright riding position and design cues inspired by adventure bikes,”
Honda stated.

"With the low centre of gravity of a performance bike it is great fun to ride, and because of its wide handlebars and upright riding position it is both easy to manoeuvre and comfortable," the Japanese manufacturer continues.

So the market will get a bike that looks as it is off-road capable, but isn’t. At least we expect to see the debut of the Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system. However, we’ll just have to wait for the EICMA show to see how exactly this bike looks and feels (at least from a stationary point of view).
