Honda Turns Civic into Type R Getaway Vehicle in Interactive Youtube Ad

As Honda's ultimate hot hatch track tool is moving ever closer to its production debut, something really amazing has just happened. No, we didn't win enough lottery money to buy Civic Type Rs for the whole team, but Honda still managed to make our day with a video like no other.

We can only embed the short teaser from Youtube right now, but we can point you in the right direction – towards Honda UK's official website, where you'll be able to play with 3 minutes of Civic footage.

By simply pressing or releasing the letter R from your keyboard, the video switches from showing a regular white Civic on the school run to showing a red Civic Type R being used to rob a bank in the middle of the night. Cool stuff Honda, cool stuff!

If you want a hot Japanese car with the letter R at the end, you'll have to wait until 2015. Between now and then engineers will continue to be hard at work, developing the fastest Type R ever, faster even than the old Integra and NSX.

This amazing machine will feature a 2-liter turbo engine producing somewhere between 280 and 300 horsepower, as well as adjustable suspension and the most aggressive body kit you've seen since the old Focus RS. Bank robbery getaway vehicle or not, it's going to be a car for the ages.

This hot new car from Swindon will lock horns in battle against the current kings o the hot hatch segment. At the beginning of the year, SEAT revealed its brand new Leon Cupra Sub8, quickly claiming the title of the fastest FWD production car around the Nurburgring.

That didn't last long though. A few months later, Renault showed the updated Megane RS 275 had a hardcore version called the Trophy-R, which is now the grand daddy. However, even Renaultsport probably knows it can't match the mighty R.
