Honda To Officially Present the NSF250R Moto3 Bike in Catalunya

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has recently confirmed it has decided to present the NSF250R 4-stroke machine on June 2, at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona. The bike will be used for the future Moto3 class in 2012 that will replace the current 2-stroke, 125cc model used in the GP125 class.

As it happened with the Moto2 championship a couple of years back, when it was replaced by quarter-liter class in the FIM Road-Racing World Championship, the Moto3 series will substitute the current 125cc category (using 2-stroke bikes), which will feature multiple engine suppliers.

The new NSF250R will be presented at the Catalunya Circuit at 15h30 on Thursday, 2nd June in the Relax Area of the MotoGP Paddock. This will be followed by a demonstration lap ridden by Alex Crivillé at approximately 17h00 on Friday 3rd June and a further demonstration lap after the MotoGP Warm-Up session on Sunday 5th June.

The bike inherits various elements from the RS125R, a machine that has helped both Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso, currently riding the RC212V in MotoGP, to win World Championships.

“As a leader of the“ NSF250R” development, on top of seeing the NSF250R expand the base for 2-wheel motorsports, as the RS125R did, and sharing dreams and excitement with our customers by revitalizing the Moto3 class, our greatest joy would be for the machine to serve as a springboard in creating future MotoGP champion riders.”
