Honda Team to Be Named Brawn Racing?

With no official information from either Ross Brawn – presumably leader of the management buyout of Honda's f1 team – or Japanese manufacturer Honda concerning the future of the Brackley-based team, there's no wonder rumors have started to jump like crazy through the international media.

The latest involves the potential designation of the new team. As reported by GMM news agency last week, Brackley F1 was believed to be the most probable name to make the F1 team roster in 2009. However, several voices and certain details that have emerged in the past few days have led to another likely variant, namely Brawn Racing.

Although the information – like all other pieces of news on the matter – is yet to be officially confirmed, it seems that the Internet domain brownracing.com has been already registered by Honda team's legal counsel, Caroline McGrory, as reported by the aforementioned source.

In addition, the team is likely to have secured the title sponsorship of international airline company Emirates for the 2009 season. Talks are reportedly still ongoing, as Brawn is trying to find the necessary funds for sustaining his team's campaign through the entire 2009 season.

In the meantime, the much-awaited presence of Honda's 2009 challenger at Jerez is yet to happen, as the group testing at the Spanish circuit lacked the presence of both Honda's and Toro Rosso's new cars. Although the mechanics at Brackley have reportedly been told to prepare the new machinery for this week's testing, there were no Brackley-F1/Brown Racing cars in Spain during Sunday's meeting.
