While enduro-touring fans around the world are expecting news on the announced new Africa Twin, here's Honda showing a really neat small-displacement machine for the South American markets: the 2014 XRE3000.
Since we doubt that Honda does not know how much people are missing true dual-purpose machinery, seeing the funny commercial shot in a Mars-like environment may hint that the Japanese are really thinking about bringing dual-sport bikes to the world.
Despite the fact that the 2014 XRE300 is a small bike, the fun factor is intact: the 291cc air-cooled single delivers 26 HP @ 7,500 rpm and the programmed fuel injection system is sure to provide a smooth ride.
With a 13.6-liter (3.6 us gal) tank and the ability to burn both gas an alcohol, the 2014 Honda XRE300 is definitely set to ride the distance. An aluminium swingarm with pro-link suspension a and 21"/18" wheel set are also great for safely treading beyond the asphalt border.
Not sure whether the 2014 Honda XRE300 would ride well on Mars, but here on Earth we're positive it will be a blast of pure fun.
