Honda Sets Production Record For Asia and China

Honda has released the production, Japanese domestic sales and export results for the month of July 2010. The company also announced that it has managed to achieve a record for any month of production in Asia and China in July 2010. Vehicle Production
The company’s production in Japan for the last month registered a year-on-year increase for the seventh consecutive time (the chain started in January 2010). Honda’s global production increased for the 8th consecutive month (since December 2009).

Japan Domestic Market Sales

The automaker’s Japan domestic market car sales expanded for the 13th consecutive month in July (since July last year). The new vehicle registrations saw a year-on-year increase for the 16th consecutive month (since April 2009), while sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the fourth consecutive month (since April 2010).

The Honda Fit was the industry’s second best-selling car last month, managing to convince a total of 18,139 customers, while the Freed model was the industry’s fifth best-selling car, registering sales of 10,308 units. The Step VGN was the industry’s seventh best-selling car with the sale of 8,664 units.

In addition to that, the automotive producer was also successful in the mini-vehicles segment, where the Life was the industry’s seventh best-selling car, with total sales of 6,082 units, while the Zest was the industry’s tenth best-selling car, registering sales of 3,527 units.

Exports from Japan

The company also managed to increase its exports last month. Honda’s total exports from Japan in July 2010 saw a year-on-year increase for the fifth consecutive month (since March 2010).
