When was the last time you raced a... wheel? Don't ask the drivers of the Lotus and the BMW in the clip below, they'll beat you to it, since they've done that over the weekend.
The wheel in question came off a Honda S2000 that had just crashed in front of the other two Nurburgring tourists. However, the rim-tire combination was determined to keep lapping the ring, so it quit its S2000 job and kept serving the infamous German track.

A reality check soon followed for the heroic wheel, which found out that it couldn't steer too well without the aid of its former car. Yes, the crazy wheel ended up crashing on its own.

Come to think of it, the fight between the Honda wheel and the other cars wasn't exactly fair. Sure, they all had things in common, such as being in a rush and emitting smoke, but this is where the similarities end.

As for the S2000 that got dumped, it was all the fault of its driver. The guy acted like he was up for some full attack mode cornering, but when the back end stepped out, sending the car into a speeding drift, the driver wasn't able to keep things together.

As the vehicle oversteered and its front end entered the grass, the man overcorrected, sending the Honda speeding the other way. At this point, the driver was late in reacting to the car's violent movement, and it all ended badly.

Oh well, at least the guy walked out from the crash that stole a wheel from his S2000. And that is one story that deserves to be remembered. And we can't say he won't go down in 2015 Nurburgring Tourist Days history. Can you say you've seen anything stranger than a wheel lapping the 'Ring?
