Produced between 1955 and 1962, the predecessor of the MGB replaced the MG TF 1500 Midget at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955. A little over 100,000 units were delivered, of which only 5,869 were sold in the UK.
A petite roadster that also spawned a coupe, the MGA weighs just over 900 kilograms (1,984 pounds) in its lightest configuration. The first run came with a 1.5-liter mill that originally produced 68 horsepower. Rolling on 205/55 Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tires, the one-off restomod hides a Hoyle Racing MGB subframe under its resplendent body shell. Independent rear suspension, adjustable coilovers, rose jointed anti-roll links, Timken wheel bearings, Hoyle disc brakes with EBC brake pads, rack-and-pinion steering, and a 7.0-inch rear axle sourced from a Merkur are featured. The 2.0-liter F20C had its oil changed a few months ago in preparation for the sale on Bring a Trailer.
