Honda has recently announced a recall for the S2000 and Acura RSX models, with the sports cars facing a braking problem.
The affected vehicles include the 2006 Acura RSX built between January 18, 2006 and August 12, 2006, as well as the 2006-2007 Honda S2000 built from January 19,2009m through November 13, 2006. A total of 18,352 units of the sports cars in the US are affected.
The problem is that the brake booster may fail and thus the vacuum won’t be maintained while the driver presses the brake pedal, which means that the braking assist will become insufficient.
Honda has already started notifying owners, with the automotive producer’s dealers set to inspect the boosters and replace those that are faulty.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, you can contact Honda at 1-310-783-2000 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236 (campaign number 13V246000).
