Japanese automaker Honda has unveiled the NSX Concept-GT, a race car that will be entered into the GT500 class of the 2014 Super GT Series.
Based on the NSX Concept that previews the company’s next-generation supercar, the NSX Concept-GT is powered by a mid-mounted 2.0-liter inline direct-injection 4-cylinder turbo engine and a racing hybrid system. Additional details have yet to be revealed, but Honda did publish a batch of photos with the race car, which can be seen below.
As a reminder, an Acura (Honda) NSX prototype was showcased earlier this month at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the United States, ahead of the Honda Indy 200 race. Unlike the Concept-GT, the Acura is motivated by a V6 hybrid powetrain.
The production version of the next-generation NSX is scheduled to be launched in 2015.
