It seems that vehicles like Renault’s Twizy, which we recently drove around Monaco and really liked, are here to stay, and their popularity is rising. So much so, that after Toyota announced their own very offering, it`s now Honda’s turn to show the world theirs.
It’s called the Micro Commuter, and this particular example, shown in the pictures, is a prototype vehicle. It is more of a production version of the Micro Commuter Concept(live photos), shown at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. One area where it differs from the Twizy is the seating layout, as it can accommodate one adult (the driver), and two children sitting in the back.
With a weight of 400 kg, its 20 hp electric motor should provide adequate poke for slow-speed driving, and its claimed range of around 60 km (37 miles) is achieved with a lithium-ion battery pack of unspecified capacity.
However, the Micro Commuter seems to be a bit more sophisticated than the Twizy, as its interior seems to be of higher quality, while also featuring a Samsung Galaxy tabled, instead of conventional dials, which also acts as a rear-view mirror, playing the feed from the rear-mounted camera.
