Honda RC213V-S Logo Makes Appearance, Bike Launch Still a Mistery

Honda reveals the badge that will adorn the meanest road-going model the house of Tokyo delivered in quite a long time, the RC213V-S. However, the Japanese manufacturer prefers to keep a rather low profile in the matter, as no official information transpired over to the media.

We reported that the most recent rumors see the RC213V-S launched on June 11th, ahead of the next MotoGP round in Barcelona. Honda is dead-silent on the matter, so everybody is only doing guessing work.

What is, however, sure, is the fact that the upcoming Honda RC213V-S is going to be a very expensive ride. It blends together parts and features that are inspired by both the works HRC machine and the RCV1000R Open-class customer racer.

No pneumatic valves and no seamless transmission

The new RC213V-S is expected to arrive with a frame and swingarm that are close relatives to what Repsol Honda fields in the premier class. However, one must not expect the pneumatic valvetrain and the seamless gearbox, features that seem to be still reserved to the track-only racers.

Other rumors say that Honda will only build the RC213V-S machines to order and will not mention how many of these will be manufactured. That is because Honda apparently tries to prevent drawing too much attention from potential buyers who feel like making easy money by stocking several limited edition bikes and auctioning them later on in a purely speculative manner.

As to the price, the mystery remains intact. Price tags in the €140,000 ($152,000) range have been also mentioned by visordown. Stay tuned for more.
