Honda Opens State-of-the-Art Dealership in Australia

Honda’s Australian division announced today that a new showroom has opened its doors for business in Bundoora, Victoria. Called Northway Honda, the center is placed within walking distance of University Hill, Bundoora’s newest residential and commercial hub and will service the outer fringes of Melbourne’s north.

The purpose-built complex, which cost AUD11 million to build, houses the showroom and a workshop under one roof.

“The design was off the page, delivering a roofline which emulates the spoiler of a car, the interior with a glass ceiling fifty metres wide and a hydraulic lift for cars displayed on the second level of the building,” Northway Honda’s General Manager, Mr. Martin Luby said, explaining the idea behind the dealership’s unique design.

The lift represents the centerpiece of the dealership and is located in the middle of the whole showroom. It can raise cars from the ground level up to the dealership floor with spectacular effect. Once there, the cars can be driven into position around the display area that offers a half-moon shape. The sales team comprising 20 members will provide a high level of customer care and sales know-how.

“That’s nothing compared to the ingenious floor plan incorporating two stories of display space, an eleven bay service center, spare parts center and pre-owned cars all located around a central hub lounge – now that’s easy! The collective motor industry knowledge and expertise under the one roof makes us a primary source of information and a ‘one-stop-shop’ for Honda customers,” Luby added.
