Honda Confirms New NSX

We've been lusting for a Honda NSX revival for years now and it seems that the time has finally come for the Japanese carmaker to give the world a new supercar.
Honda President and CEO Takanobu Ito told autocar at the Frankfurt Auto Show that the project has received the green light, adding that work has already started.

However, the new NSX will use a pathway adapted to the current eco-obsessed industry. This means that the car will rely on an impressive power-to-weight ration in order to deliver performance, rather than throwing may hundreds of horses into the battle with the stopwatch.

You can’t depend on a high power output to call a car sporty anymore,” the executive told the aforementioned source. “The original NSX was about high power but also good driving performance, and today power-to-weight is what we have to focus on. The NSX was known for its aluminum body, so when we develop our new sportscar we don’t want to copy Ferrari for power, but to also chase efficiency as well.

Honda has had previous attempts to give the world a new NSX. In 2003 ,the automotive producer brought the HSC concept to the world, which should've been the new NSX, but that remained just a concept.

Subsequently, the company planned a 2010 launch for the NSX's successor, but this was canceled by Takeo Fukui, who was the company's CEO back then, due to the effects of the economic crisis.
