Di Grassi, who was also tipped with joining Fernando Alonso in Renault's lineup for 2009 – as he was part of the French team's youth programme for the past year – will be taking his last chance to debut in Formula 1 in 2009.

“The next two weeks will be a very important stage in my development and I will be spending a lot of time at the Honda Racing F1 Team's factory before the test to speak with the engineers and learn as much as possible in advance of the test,” admitted Di Grassi before heading to Honda's base in Brackley, UK.
Di Grassi competed in the GP2 Series last year and finished the season in 3rd place, only one point behind runner-up and rival for a driving seat at Honda later this month Bruno Senna. He also tested for Renault F1 Racing Team last year, alongside ART Grand Prix' Romain Grosjean.
