While everyone was busy looking at the new Honda Civic Type R or the 2&4 Project, the Japanese also unveiled another proposition, admittedly not as exciting. We’re talking about the Civic Tourer Active Life Concept that aims at providing a different take on how young, active people of today travel.
As you probably noticed already, a lot of manufacturers these days are using the ‘Active’ term, one that aims at showing potential customers that the car they are looking at will provide ample support for their lifestyle.

They usually aim at young families that like to spend time outdoors, doing sports of traveling, allowing them to pack an impressive amount of luggage as well as other, harder to pack items. We’re referring to such stuff as bikes and kid toys that have irregular shapes and might demand creative solutions for transportation.

That’s what Honda is offering in the form of the Civic Tourer Active Life Concept. With 1,668 liters of luggage space in the back, a low loading height, and a smart loading track, this should be a perfect car to take camping.

Looks may not be to everyone’s taste, but the practicality of the thing can’t be denied. There’s a retractable arm included on the show car that can be extended from the rack to allow you to work on the bikes easier.

Speaking of accessories, you also get a toolbox, bottle holder, water tank and a sort of bike rack, all included in the mix, inside the trunk. It’s rather safe to say that active people will find this more than attractive.

Moving into the cabin, the materials used are also inclined towards practicality and durability rather than just looks. The seats are made of both suede and leather and have carbon fiber piping inserts while blue stitching completes the package.

While we’re waiting for this ‘Concept’ to come out, you can check it out in detail via the adjacent photos.
