How was your weekend? Well, we're here to talk about some spicy answers, coming from a few aficionados out there, who spent their Saturday and Sunday on the Nurburgring.
In fact, you can draw your own conclusions on these gear heads' weekend thanks to the piece of footage at the bottom of the page. The clip showcases the highlights of the Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) session that took place on Sunday.

As expected, the session was loaded with stunts and not all of them were the kind that saw participants smiling. However, we can all learn from these mistakes.

Let's take the near crash at the 6:03 point of the video, for instance. The shenanigan started with a Honda Civic running from a BMW M3.

Now, both machines had been prepped for the track, which is why the velocity numbers involved in the pursuit were quite high.

However, things took a turn for the worst when the two machines reached the Brunnchen 2 corner, which happens to be one of YouTube's favorites.

You see, the driver of the Honda Civic carried too much bend into the corner. And there was only so much tricks such as the lowered center of gravity, the wide tires and the tricked-out suspension could do for the hot hatch.

The Japanese toy ended up understeering, with the wide trajectory seeing the car leaving the asphalt. Fortunately, the gravel trap placed on the exit of the bend was there to save the day.

Now, you should know that the rest of the 8:26 video is also worthy of your attention. For instance, you'll get to see critical understeer and oversteer moments, with these issues leading to other near crashes. And yes, the element linking the pedals to the steering wheel was also the one to blame in these stunts.
