Honda Celebrates Car Films in Nottingham

The British division of Honda revealed today it is launching the 'Saturday Night at the Drive-In' series of events in Nottingham, celebrating the greatest car films ever made. This is the first of a series of five events that will be taking place throughout the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season as part of Honda’s sponsorship of the Honda Racing Team.

Each event is produced by Future Cinema on behalf of Honda and will be staged at dealer showrooms across the country with film fans and racing enthusiasts getting the chance to experience “an evening of glamour and racing.”

“Whether it is a British car classic like ‘The Italian Job’ or a modern day blockbuster such as ‘The Fast and The Furious’, Honda will be bringing the nation’s favourite racing movies to life in true film premier style complete with a red carpeted entrance, paparazzi and a canape reception,” a company statement reads.

Guests can become part of the film by dressing up as one of the characters and having their photos taken with a film-themed background through a giant green screen. They will also be able to get up close and personal with Honda Racing BTCC drivers Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden “as they share their racing experiences and team aspirations over movie-themed drinks and nibbles throughout the course of the evening.”

‘The Cannonball Run’ will take place at Lookers Honda, Lenton Lane, Nottingham, NG7 2PT on the evening of Saturday 16th April from 7.00pm, following the qualifying round of BTCC at Donington Park.
