Evolved over 20 years now, the actual Honda CBR1000RR is one of the standards against which most other liter-class bikes are measured to. Taking the racing world by storm, this bike has been a consistent presence in the major world competitions and was never a stranger to the podium.
The CBR1000RR has started as an 893cc machine back in 1992, bringing a new philosophy to the race tracks: light makes right and being able to pack huge powerloads in diminutive packages, offering both maneuverability and tremendous accelerations.

Displacement slowly increased over the years, as 2002 models jumped to the acclaimed 929 series and the 954 ones, two years later. 2004 marked the addition of yet a new engine, inspired by the dominating MotoGP RC211V beast. With the PGFI (Programmed Fuel Injection) things have been taken even further, a great match to the innovative steering damper and superior, race-derived mass centralization.

The last 5 years saw the CBR1000RR getting a cam-assisted slipper clutch, balance-free rear shocks, the Big Piston Fork from Showa, and progressively lighter, better wheels. And just to prove that the liter-engine Hondas are still in the lead, take a look at what happened this week at the Sepang race circuit in Malaysia.
