Honda Begins Build of New Financial Services Facility

Having established quite a foothold into the US, Japanese automaker Honda is slowly, but surely, growing the business and services it offers for its customers on the local market. Having grown like Prince Charming over the past two years, Honda generated enough money that it now can afford to erect a new financial services facility in North Carolina, the home state, sort of speak, of the brand.

To be operated by American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC), the new building will be the place to go if you are a customer in need of financing from several neighboring states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

After the new facility is ready in 2012 to accommodate the finance business, Honda will relocate the 120 employees currently working at the Charlotte regional office. The new building, says Honda, will meet all the requirements of green activists when it comes to efficiency, having been designed in such a way that it will qualify for the Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy Efficient Design (LEED) standards.

Currently, AHFC has a pool of some 334,000 Honda and Acura customers. That number is expected to grow, given the evolution of the Japanese brand on the American market.

"We look forward to the positive contributions our new facility will make to the further growth and economic success of this area," said American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC) Regional Manager Dean Hardesty. "Our new offices will enhance our ability to serve our Honda and Acura customers with the highest quality financial products and services."
