Some riders prefer to take their time and pick each and every accessory for their bike carefully, comparing specs, prices, fitment and functionality with a dedication that sometimes taps into pathology.

Others would rather spend some extra cash on such accessories but entrust the OEM with choosing and testing them. There are plusses and minuses to this way of buying a motorcycle, and it all depends on how one sees the matter.

While for certain riders letting Honda pick their accessories is impossible to conceive, others will appreciate the no-hassle process that is reduced to a bigger figure on the check. This is why Honda reveals the Travel Edition of the Africa Twin, thus offering customers who aren't exactly hardcore adventurers a bike that has the touring basic equipment straight from the box.

OEM gear sometimes costs more, but buying everything as a package lowers the costs

We all know that there are two major things about buying genuine OEM gear. The first one is the perfect compliance and zero "handshake issues" between the add-ons and the bike. These parts work great with the bike, and most of them are made by big names in the business, only to be rebranded with the OEM's logo.

The price is the other thing about OEM gear, as these accessories are often more expensive than similar ones out there. Still, as many would agree, the higher price also pays for the comfort of not having to do your own research, installation and all.

The CRF1000L Africa Twin Travel Edition package consists of side cases, a top case, crash bars, heated grips, central stand, LED fog lights, and a 12V socket. Bought separately, these add to the sum of €3,152, the equivalent of $3,424. The package is €2,750 ($2,987), and you don't have to do any wrenching.

Honda offers four models that can be equipped with the Travel Edition, and this doesn't include the basic version. ABS and DCT models are the only ones than can be had in Travel trim, for the following prices:

- 15,650 euro(ABS flat color), equivalent to $17,000
- 15,950 euro (ABS Tricolor), equivalent to $17,327
- 16,800 euro (DCT flat color), equivalent to $18,250
- 17,100 euro (DCT Tricolor), equivalent to $18,576.
