After announcing the pricing for “America’s Best Sedan” for the 2020 model year, the Accord is joined by the hybrid at $25,470 excluding $930 for destination and handling. That’s $150 more than before as well as $1,600 more than the entry-level turbo engine with 1.5 liters of displacement.
Including delivery, the entry-level Accord Hybrid will set you back $26,400, the EX levels up to $30,300, the EX-L soars to $32,800, and the Touring goes for $36,070. Knowing Honda, don’t expect any deals anytime soon even though the sales would lead you to believe the opposite.

Earlier this year, Honda slashed Accord and Acura ILX production in Ohio over slowing demand for the two nameplates. The CR-V and TLX were also affected, going to show that it’s hard for passenger cars to prosper in the land of crossovers, sport utility vehicles, and good ol’ pickup trucks.

As for the one change the Accord Hybrid introduced for 2020, that would be the AVAS. That’s an acronym for Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, which is supposed to enhance awareness for pedestrians and bicyclists when the car is running in electric mode.

The two-motor hybrid powertrain soldiers on with an EPA fuel economy of 48 miles per gallon in the city and combined cycle. A 2.0-liter Atkinson engine with i-VTEC is also featured, boasting a thermal efficiency of 40 percent. All told, the Accord Hybrid produces 212 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque.

Mid-sized sedan shoppers will also be happy to know that the engine and two motors are manufactured in the United States at the Anna, Ohio and Raymond, Ohio plants. Standard safety is another highlight, all thanks to the Honda Safety suite that includes Collision Mitigation Braking, automatic high beams, multi-angle rearview camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.

EX and higher trim levels come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio. Only the Touring comes with HondaLink subscription services, allowing the owner to lock and unlock the doors remotely via his or her smartphone. Other services include stolen-vehicle tracking, automatic collision notification, and enhanced roadside assistance.
