Hollywood Debut for Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X

The Lancer Evolution recently made its Hollywood debut in the new ‘Hollywood Stunt Driver’ show at Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast. The vehicle, driven by the latest crew of ‘Hell Drivers,’ starred in the 20-minute stunt driving show, which features incredible stunts and precision driving.

The ‘Hell Drivers’ team features ten of the most high-rated drivers in the world of competitive motorsport, including the V8 Supercar driver Warren Luff, Drift Australia’s Eugene Arendsen and Travis Roberts, as well as international stuntman Mark Tearle.

The show, replacing the Police Academy Stunt Show, takes place in a purpose built and designed arena which cost $7.80 million to set up. Presented by Castrol EDGE, the show premiered on December 26, 2008, featuring gun shots, explosions and car chases.

The new Evo is powered by a lightweight aluminum 2.0l turbocharged MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control) petrol engine, developing 403 bhp and 387 lb.-ft. of torque. It takes the X FQ-400 3.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill and tops at an electronically-limited speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The power developed by the engine is put to the road by Mitsubishi's Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) four-wheel-drive system. S-AWC combines electronic systems like Active Stability Control, Active Centre Differential, Active Yaw Control and Sport ABS to make the Evo as user friendly and as safe as possible. Three driving modes can be selected (Tarmac, Gravel and Snow) via a wheel-mounted button.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is available at Mitsubishi Ralliart Dealers nationally, at a price list of £49,999 ($81,279).
