Hitler Rages After Finding Out about Volkswagen’s EPA Diesel Scandal

Remember when the producers of Downfall though they could wipe out the Hitler parodies based on the movie? That was 2010 and here we are today, talking about the latest such clip, this time targeting Volkswagen’s diesel scandal in the US.

There’s something about these parodies that allows them to remain forever young. Heck, some of them are so good that they would probably make sense in a parallel universe where Hitler never existed.

For those of you who haven’t been following Volkswagen’s situation on the American market, this clip can also serve as a brutal brief lesson on how Vee Dub is doing.

Come to think of it, it’s not too difficult to understand why Hitler would go crazy about the all-German TDI engineering going down the dark route in the US.

Spoiler alert - we are now moving away from the world of parodies and into the cold, hard reality, where the oil burning has become a rather complicated process.

The German carmaker is currently in the midst of a scandal that sees the EPA ponting the finger at over 480,000 VW-built diesels cars that are out on US roads, but do not meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards.

The vehicles are fitted with a defeat device that triggers a special cycle when the vehicle senses it is being tested for emissions.

If we take a look at VW’s 2014 sales, diesel-powered vehicle accounted for 22 percent of the overall figure, which means the scandal has deep implications for the automotive producers’s financial numbers.

And the emission fiasco is, probably, not limited to VW. EPA has now opened an investigation that covers diesel-powered vehicles from other carmakers who are active on the US market. No results have been published yet, but we can expect other badges to fall.

Now back to the Hitler parody about the (tricked) people’s car...
