One of the first independent manufacturers of rider-worn airbag systems, Japan-based Hit-Air show their latest motorcycle jacket, the EU5.
The Hit-Air EU5 jacket brings all the functionality and comfort of a textile garment, but with the added protection of an airbag system.
With multiple adjusters and shoulder and elbow padding, the Hit-Air EU5 also comes with air bladders in both the front and the back. When triggered by the ripcord system, a CO2 cartridge inflates the bladders in some 0.25 seconds.
If the bladders are not perforated, the CO2 canister can be easily replaced and the system is once more ready to use. The EU5 is said to retail for around €599 ($819). Check out more airbag systems from Hit-Air, including outer harness ones which can be worn with any other gear.
