History of the BMW 3-Series

With the F30 generation of the BMW 3-Series being the ideal car you can have for the money, it’s easy to forget where it all started. The 3er plays a very important role, not only in the sales figures, but also in BMW’s history.
The story of the 3-Series starts out with the E21, originally only sold as a 2-door saloon model. This was then superseded by the E30 series, the second generation, which also had a 4-door saloon and a 5-door touring added. This is also where the story of the M3 begins.

With the E36, the third generation built between 1990 and 1999, the styling was changed significantly, as the two rounded headlights on either side were joined together.

The E90 that arrived in 2005 is instantly recognized as the modern face of BMW. IT was then replaced in 2012 with the wider and bigger F30 we have today.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
