Historic Ford Photo Collection for Sale

American manufacturer Ford will remain, for as long as the humans shall walk this Earth, the company which made the automobile available to the masses. Although it did not invent it, Ford was essential in shaping the world we see today.

This is why old Ford vehicle have always represented a soft spot for collectors, who have been chasing them across continents. Today however, the race for Ford memorabilia will take an unexpected turn, thanks to a priceless announcement made by Ford.

The car maker says it has opened its photo archives and is ready, for the right amount of money, to sell the mages dating to the earliest days of Ford Motor Company to those who want them. In all, more than 5,000 images (until now, as hundreds more are added each week to the archives), including commemorative and limited-edition prints, vintage signs and advertisements are for sale.

“The entire world of Ford culture is here,”
said Dean Weber, manager, Ford Archives. “These images represent the very special place Ford has in not only American history but world history.”

The images are available at the following link, where they can be previewed and purchased. If you're a Ford fan, you should reserve the better part of next week to sweep through all the images there. In fact, you should reserve the better part of you life to sweeping through all the photos. The car maker says it has millions of photos at its Archives in Dearborn. The 5,000 up for sale now are, hence, only the tip of the iceberg.
