Hispania Late on Revealing F111 Challenger

The test in Barcelona this week is to reveal several novelties regarding the single-seaters prepared by the F1 teams for the 2011 season of Formula 1, and one of the things people expect the most is the new challenger developed by Hispania Racing F1 Team for the upcoming campaign.

As you all know, the Spanish squad is the only one in the 2011 F1 entry list who is yet to unveil its new car, although some studio pics have appeared on the Internet in early February. Days later, race driver Narain Karthikeyan told the media that the car would be ready for track debut for the last test of the winter.

However, it now appeared that the car, while in its last stage of development, will need some extra days to be assembled, which means that Karthikeyan will most likely have to wait for a couple of days before getting behind the wheel of his 2011 car. According to a report from journalist Josep Viaplana, the car will debut in Barcelona for sure, only the exact day is not yet known.

The car is in the final stage of assembly. We do not know if it will be Wednesday or Thursday, but the F111 will run in Montmelo (Barcelona),” said the aforementioned journalist, citing a source from within the team.

In the meantime, word on Karthikeyan's future teammate at HRT has already come out in the Spanish media, whose recent reports suggest that Vitantonio Liuzzi will be confirmed by the squad midway through this week. According to Spanish sports daily Marca, the announcement will take place either on Tuesday or Wednesday, before the F111 will experience its first miles on the Barcelona race track.
