Hippie Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Is a Tribute to the 917L

Have you ever looked at a Porsche 911 GT2 RS and thought that the Nurburgring tamer could do with some extra spice? Well, if you belong to this category of aficionados and yet you're not fortunate enough to get your hands on one of the just 77 units of the 2019 Porsche 935, Zuffenhausen has just the racecar for you, namely the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport.

So while the new-age 9135 will set one back over $800,000 and the standard (if such an adjective might be used) GT2 RS is a $300,000 car, the 2RS Clubsport comes with a price of $478,000.

Only 200 units of the Clubsport Neunelfer are being brought to life, with this machine being ideal for customers who want to race without becoming part of a team.

The factory delivers these beasts in white, thus inviting customers to come up with their own liveries. Well, the example sitting before us is the kind that can easily make an aficionado weak in the knees.

You see, this Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is here in Hippie trim. The livery is obviously borrowed from the famous 917-021, the 1970 Martini Racing chassis that charmed everybody with its psychedelic appearance.

As a reminder, that 917, whose best trophy involves a 2nd place at Le Mans, is animated by a 4.5-liter flat-12 delivering 520 ponies.

Machines like the ones we have here are hardly described by their max output number alone and yet I have to mention that the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport packs no less than 700 ponies.

The design of the wrap that adorns the Neunelfer comes from Scott Kepple, a digital artist who can be regarded as pioneer of the genre. For instance, the pixel wielder's street car wraps push the segment further.

And you can check out the little details that matter, such as the ready-raced look, in the images above.
