Hino Adds High Horsepower 300 Series in Australia

The light duty truck offer in Australia is now bigger as Hino gave its 300 Series a boost by adding eight new models with more power. The new Hino 300 Series 920 and 921 ‘High Horsepower’ have been introduced recently at the Melbourne International Truck, Trailer and Equipment show.

The 920 model is powered by a four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine making 190 hp (139 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. The engine delivers the torque in a flat, linear way thanks to a six-speed automatic transmission, resulting in an unrivaled combination of efficiency and driveability.

Taking it another step forward, the 921 manages to break the 200 hp milestone, making 205 hp (151 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque along with the same automatic transmission, but a reinforced chassis for bigger payloads.

Visually, the High Horsepower models are differentiated by a more tougher stance, chrome grille and 920/921 badges. They are available both in single and crew cab configurations and all come equipped with the same comfort features and class-leading safety equipment as the rest of the 300 Series range. Standard features include a magnetically suspended driver’s seat, vehicle stability control. dual SRS airbags and a 6.1-inch multimedia system.

"The new models considerably boost the performance and application suitability of the 300 Series range," said Hino Australia product planning manager Daniel Petrovski. "It's not just the most powerful light-duty Hino has released in Australia, it's the most powerful light truck to be sold into the Australian market.”
