High-Speed SUV Hit and Run Action

It’s not exactly rarely when we get to see hit and run accidents captured on dashboard camera in Asian countries, but the one in the video after the jump is truly revolting. I really hope someone got the registration number of the SUV and the police caught the guy and made him or her pay dearly.

In fact, I am not even sure that this collision could be referred to as an accident. Accidents are defined rather by the unexpected character the turn of events can at times take, but clipping other motorists while slaloming in and out traffic at high speed is anything but a surprise. I’d rather say it is one of the results with very high chances of happening, and a very easily foreseeable outcome for such mindless riding.

It’s been more than once when I’ve mentioned the fact that laws should be changed in certain parts of the world and somehow eliminate any reference to the “unexpected character” of such collisions, and thus allow judges and prosecutors to dish out more suitable penalties and reparatory payments. That is, because the operator of a motorized vehicle driving in such a manner should actually expect that something bad will come of his law-breaking deeds, and decides to simply ignore this perspective.

Adding charges such as property damage, speeding, leaving the place of an accident without police consent and the injuries suffered by the fallen rider should be more than enough to make such drivers act like idiots next time.
