As we promised earlier today, we are bringing you new, high-quality photos of the 2015-spec Yamaha MotoGP machinery. Maybe if Telefonica Movistar would at least try to live up to their corporate image expectations, the press conference for the introduction of the 2016 bikes will be streamed to HD quality so we can show you good live shots of the bikes as they are being unwrapped. And of course, a more stable streaming connection is always welcome, too.
However, we are willing to forget about all this, as we feasted our eyes on the bevy of high-resolution photos Yamaha Racing surfaced today, and we are more than confident that you’ll also appreciate this lush display of racing machinery.

Frankly, this is one of the occasions when words are pretty much useless, as this piece is entirely dedicated to the pleasures of the eye. We can add some of the tech data the house of Iwata released with these photos. The 2015-spec YZR-M1 is a liter-class machine with a crossplane crankshaft and whose engine can produce in excess of 240 hp.

The M1 rolls on MFR forged magnesium 16.5”wheels equipped with Brembo brakes and carbon discs 320-340mm in diameter, with Öhlins upside down forks and Öhlins rear shock, all adjustable for pre-load and compression, and rebound damping. Bike tips the scales at 158 kg (348.8 lb) and the price is in the millions range. And even if you’d like to get one, Yamaha would not sell it, for obvious technology secret reasons.

What more can we say… Enjoy! Oh, and also watch out for more photos and close-ups tomorrow!

Valentino Rossi
Jorge Lorenzo
