Hertz Spruces Up the Ford Fiesta ST

By all means, the Ford Fiesta ST is one of the prettiest hot hatchbacks out there thanks to its form follows function design and very clean lines. But as the Dutch branch of Hertz demonstrated, you can easily enhance the looks of the pocket rocket with Lotus F1-inspired black-and-gold livery.

More than half a decade ago, Hertz and Carroll Shelby teamed up to develop the exclusive Ford Mustang GT350H for the so-called 'rent-a-racer' program of the late 1960s. In addition to the Stang, similarly enhanced Chevrolet Corvettes, Jaguar E-Types and AMC AMXs were available as rentals in select locations across the U.S.

Harking back to the olden days, Hertz Rent-a-Car Netherlands customized the Ford Fiesta ST with the aforementioned iconic black-and-gold livery. The hot hatchback's alloys have been also been powder coated with the same gold paint used for the go-faster stripes, as the standard grey wheels would've messed up the chromatic contrast.

Officially dubbed Fiesta ST-H, the little turbocharged Ford will be integrated in the Hertz Dream Collection of exquisite Dutch rentals, which currently consists of amazing machines such as the Jaguar F-Type, Porsche 911 (991), Bentley Continental GT and many other exotica.

In case you were wondering, the 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine has been left untouched. The 180 horsepower forced induction mill provides the Ford Fiesta ST enough oomph to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 139 mph (224 km/h).
