Adventist Health nurse Allyn Pierce became an Internet star and a hero after he drove through Camp Fire ravaging Paradise, California, risking his life to carry others to safety.
In the process, his trusty and beloved Toyota Tundra, which he affectionately called The Pandra, was ruined by the flames and the heat. It still works to this day, but it’s seen much better days – to put it mildly.

Shortly after Pierce’s story went viral, Toyota promised they would give him a replacement truck, as a reward for his selfless and very brave gesture. No hero should be left without his truck, not when he happened to love it so much – The Pandra even has its own Instagram page.

That happened last year: Pierce heard of Toyota’s offer and accepted it, and the carmaker was true to its word. Now, Pierce’s new truck has been customized to look more like the OG Pandra. That is to say, it was customized with a “burned” look.

The photo attached to this article shows the OG Pandra and the new truck: the new car stands taller than the older, having been fitted with 40-inch tires. It’s also painted on the sides with a special dark brown candy color, which makes it resemble the original one, which had its paint melted by the flames, as Pierce drove back in Paradise twice to see that everyone got out safely.

The customization was carried out by Rockstar garage, in partnership with Team Plus Bullet Liner from Murrieta, California. Pierce is already showing off his new and improved Pandra on social media.

Like many other people, Pierce too lost his home in Camp Fire. When his story went viral, a handful of Go Fund Me pages were set up in his name, to raise money that he would later use to rebuild his home. They are no longer up, with Pierce saying shortly afterwards that he and his family will be “ok” and urging well-wishers to donate to community help organizations.
